Miami, FL – Marco Rubio for Senate today launched an online video series, “Marco In His Own Words.” As he has done throughout the race, Rubio will be communicating directly with voters about his story, why he’s running and what he believes.

“While Florida’s statewide campaigns have traditionally been fundraising and TV advertising contests, Marco Rubio’s rise has been the product of communicating his ideas directly to voters in person and through the web,” said Rubio for Senate spokesman Alex Burgos. “Through this web video series, we hope Floridians will find Marco’s straightforward, from-the-heart message to be a refreshing approach to modern campaigning.

“What makes these videos unique is that they are raw, unedited and unscripted conversations Marco is having directly with the voters of Florida.”

In today’s first video, “My Background,” Rubio discusses his family background and working class upbringing in the same unedited, unrehearsed and unscripted way he has done in town halls and events across Florida.

“Marco In His Own Words” marks the next step in using new media to bring Marco’s story and his limited government message to those Floridians who aren’t as familiar with it. This effort builds on Rubio’s success to date using web technologies such as Twitter, YouTube and Facebook to directly engage voters in a cost-efficient, unfiltered way.
