Miami, FL - U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio today issued the following statement regarding Gov. Charlie Crist’s support of counting illegal immigrants in the Census for the purposes of political apportionment:
“When it comes to political apportionment, the Census should count legal American residents only. Gov. Crist’s position to include illegal immigrants in this count would dilute the voting power of every American citizen. Moreover, it would actually incentivize politicians to perpetuate our broken immigration system by rewarding states with large illegal immigrant populations with a louder voice in Washington.
“The Governor’s insatiable appetite to spend federal money has once again led him to embrace a policy that is not only wrong, but is damaging to Florida and the rule of law.”

Marco is right. Illegals shouldn’t be counted. Now counting immigrants that are here legally working with green cards is another story. Counting illegals would give them representations…Cali. would probably get several new rep for the state to represent illegals??? The laws on the books need to be followed if your here illegally then they need to go…what other country lets you stay illegally and gives you more benefits than the citizens of the country…
